So many "China podcasts" are just that – about Chinese history, politics or other, similarly wonky subjects. Not that there's anything wrong with that (we love us some history) but, sometimes, we yearn for the lighter side of China – and now, Kung Fu Komedy has delivered. This week, the Kung Fu Komedy krew chat with Michelle Garnaut.
Michelle Garnaut is a living legend and an expat pioneer in the true meaning of the words. She’s created not one but three iconic restaurants across China, and has a story unlike any we’d heard before.
She might be best known for the restaurant M on The Bund, which has been around for a mind-bending 17 years, and was the first ever high-end restaurant set up on the bund. Although she’s also an activist, a literary festival founder and one hell of a raconteur.
Every week, Andy Curtain tracks down the most interesting person he can find and asks them what they're doing in China. To subscribe, add the Stuck in the Middle podcast on iTunes, or copy this link to use in your favorite podcatcher app.
