Never trust (or hire) someone who went to any of these 'universities'

Diploma mills are big problem in China - and a big business.

So high is demand for what they call 'pheasant universities' that fake schools around the world are making their fortunes off of Chinese demand. 95 percent of certificates issued by US diploma mills reportedly end up in Chinese hands.

Fake universities usually have highly plausible names, and in a country where legitimate universities often have implausible names (we're looking at you, China University of Petroleum) this can lead to a lot of confusion.

To help you tell the difference between real and fake universities, Chinese media have released this list of 200 known diploma mills (overwhelmingly in Beijing) that we have translated:
