Moscow and Beijing residents 'least friendly to tourists', TripAdvisor

A new survey by travel site TripAdvisor found that locals from Moscow and Beijing were the least friendly to tourists

The second annual Cities Survey, based on more than 54,000 responses from TripAdvisor users, ranked Tokyo as number one city for best overall experience. The Japanese capital also came top for helpfulness of locals, taxi service, public transport, and cleanliness. Singapore also did well, ranking first for "comfort of traveling alone" and coming second for taxi service, cleanliness of streets, ease of getting around and family-friendliness.

On the other end of the scale, Beijing and Moscow were deemed the worst cities for helpfulness of locals, friendliness of taxi drivers, and taxi service. The Russian capital was also ranked second worst in several other categories.
