Event Hospitality & Entertainment (EVENT) has entered into an agreement with Austin Hotels Group Pty Ltd. to manage the hotel formally branded as Radisson Liverpool Apartments and Suites; the hotel will be re-branded as Rydges Darling Square Apartment Hotel when it re-opens on August 8, 2022.

Joining other recent signings – including Rydges Perth King Square, The Miller and Rydges Rotorua – Rydges Darling Square Apartment Hotel is the third new Rydges property announced in the last two months, demonstrating strong demand for the brand in Australia and New Zealand.

Rydges Darling Square Apartment Hotel is located in the center of Sydney’s CBD in close proximity to Darling Harbour and the International Convention Centre. It includes a range of standard and executive rooms, one- and two-bedroom suites, an on-site restaurant, room service, complimentary Wi-Fi, gym and a swimming pool, making it the perfect base for the business and leisure traveler.

The 98-room property has recently been closed to undergo an extensive refurbishment of the apartments and studio rooms, restaurant, bar and conference rooms.

Mr. Yu Dongxiao from Austin Hotels Group Pty Ltd. said, “As this is our first investment in the hotel industry in Australia, we were looking for a local Australian brand that had a strong domestic loyalty footprint and that would work well with the elevated offering that the renovation had created. We therefore knew that Rydges would be an ideal fit. Moreover, we have found the perfect partner in EVENT to represent the property and deliver strong local results. We value EVENT’s personalized local approach to hotel management and we look forward to a strong future partnership together.”

Norman Arundel, Event Hospitality and Entertainment Director of Hotel and Resorts Operations said, “EVENT is delighted to add Rydges Darling Square Apartment Hotel to our growing portfolio of hotels and resorts and partner with Austin Hotels Group Pty Ltd. to bring the property to life in the Sydney CBD market. We look forward to working with the incredible local teams to amplify the hotels’ offerings through EVENT’s sales and marketing channels, and providing our guests the unrivalled hotel experience they’ve come to expect from the Rydges brand.”

Under the management of EVENT, Rydges Darling Square Apartment Hotel will be a full participant in EVENT’s Priority Guest Rewards loyalty program and all EVENT distribution channels, including rydges.com.
