As of tomorrow (June 6), Beijing will allow venues to offer indoor dining, having been temporarily suspended since May 1 due to COVID-19.
However, there are a couple of exceptions. In Fengtai district and certain parts of Changping district, the temporary suspension of indoor dining will remain in place.
As reported by Xinhua, venues offering indoor dining will be expected to control the numbers of diners and ensure diners are appropriately distanced to help prevent the spread of the virus.
Here’s a couple of other pieces of good news:
Parks, scenic spots and elsewhere will open at 75% capacity, as opposed to 50%.
“Public areas,” as well as places of work and residential communities, require proof of a negative nucleic acid test result issued within 72 hours, as opposed to 48 hours. As you probably know by now, some places are less strict than others when it comes to checking your test results, but it’s better to be prepared.
Between midnight and 3pm on June 5, five new locally transmitted cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Beijing, as announced at the 356th Press Conference on COVID-19 Epidemic Prevention and Control.
Three cases were in Fengtai district, one in Chaoyang and one in Haidian. All cases were among individuals already under observation in quarantine.
