As Beijing continues to battle an outbreak of the omicron variant of COVID-19, strict anti-epidemic measures continue to be imposed upon the capital.
A number of the city’s parks have announced temporary closure. Dates for re-opening have not yet been announced.

Between 3pm, May 8 and 3pm, May 9, Beijing reported 50 new locally transmitted cases, as announced at the 329th Press Conference on COVID-19 Epidemic Prevention and Control by the Beijing Information Office.
Of the newly added cases, 18 were in Fangshan district, 10 in Shunyi, seven in Fengtai, six in Haidian, five in Chaoyang, two in Tongzhou and two in Changping. During the latest outbreak in Beijing, there have been a total of 777 cases.
The China World Trade Shopping Mall in the CBD is currently closed.
For those who live and work in Chaoyang, Shunyi and Fangshan districts, daily mass testing takes place on May 10, 11 and 12. Meanwhile, for 14 other districts, three rounds of mass testing will continue in neighborhoods where positive cases have been reported within the last seven days.
Make sure to bring ID (passport for foreigners), and enquire with your employer or residential community if you’re unsure about where to get tested.
