An announcement from the Beijing Subway stated that operating hours on Line 1 and Line 2 will be extended as of Friday, July 23.

The changes apply to the Friday and Saturday schedules only. See below for full details:

  • Line 1 (Gucheng to Sihuidong) – extended by 61 minutes

  • Line 1 (Sihuidong to Gucheng) – extended by 64 minutes

  • Line 2 (Jishuitan-Dongzhimen-Fuxingmen-Xizhimen) – extended by 81 minutes

  • Line 2 (Xizhimen-Fuxingmen-Dongzhimen-Jishuitan) – extended by 94 minutes

The extension is good news for those staying out late on a Friday or Saturday night.

Line 2 is a ring line which passes through key Beijing transport hubs, including Beijing Railway Station, Beijing North Station and Dongzhimen Transport Hub.

Meanwhile, Line 1 runs east to west and passes through Tiananmen Square, shopping district Wangfujing and Guomao in the heart of the Beijing CBD.

It was revealed recently that Line 1 will be integrated with the Batong Line and will run directly to the soon-to-be-opened Universal Beijing Resort.
