That’s Beijing takes a look at the best of the weekend:

Fri Aug 21: Take Me to the 90’s

‘Take me to the 90’s underground music scene’ is actually the full name of this epic event. Come out and enjoy the dance floor at Wigwam as they take you on a musical journey.

Fri Aug 21. Wigwam. See event listing.

Fri Aug 21: Slumber Station

After the long epidemic, Slumber Station returns to Dada with full status. The dance floor welcomes you back with bass music. The long-lost bass dancing party night is here again to meet you this autumn. In the past six months, the appearance of countless online activities and livestreams can only show us that the DADA dance floor cannot be replaced, and bass music is the antidote!

Fri Aug 21. Dada Beijing. See event listing.

Fri Aug 21: Grooves and Chords

DJ Ludo V will bring his crazy Italian techno style to Migas Mercado. It will be very special night with the highest quality music out on the terrace and get you groovin’ this Friday night.

Fri Aug 21. Migas Mercado. 7F China World Mall, 1 Jianguomen Wai Dajie, Chaoyang district See event listing.

Sat Aug 22: Hutong Soul Party

Summer never ends with Slow Boat! Back in June, they joined our forces with Zhazha Bistro to bring to you summery soul vibes to the hutong and now they’re back at it again! Come out to Zhazha Bistro on Saturday for a day of Guizhou food, soul & funk, and Slow Boat beer!

Sat Aug 22, 4pm onwards. Zhazha Bistro. See event listing.

Until Sept 23: Forget Japan

Forget Japan is the latest art project by Shang Liang and it starts this weekend at Zarah. By detaching, deconstructing, reorganizing and mixing the three parts of photography, newspaper scan and Google street view screenshots, a set of narrative methods belonging to these images themselves is established to try to experience any aspect of time and space, with the ambiguity of virtual and reality. All the images about Japan, that he believed to be his own, have slowly constructed a dream land where the audience could escape from real life.

Until Sept 23. Zarah. See event listing.

Until Aug 31: Summer Vibes and Free-Flow Drinks

Sure, summer holidays are looking a little different this year. But there are still plenty of ways to get those relaxing summer vibes in the city! Get to Beersmith this Saturday, as they launch their ‘Weekend Sunset Sessions.’ Let loose on the terrace with free-flow drinks, live DJ sets and impressive sunset views over the CBD.

Until Aug 31. Beersmith Gastropub. See event listing.
