For those that can’t wait for temps to drop, get yourself to Moscow Restaurant over by the Beijing Zoo. The lavish (we’re talking gargantuan chandeliers and over-the-top golden accents) Russian restaurant has recently opened an ice bar out front where you can sip on vodka and taste some caviar, all while sporting an enormous fur coat and hat. The catch? In order to get inside, we are told we need to choose from the set menu, which ranges from RMB168 (vodka served in a shot glass made of ice and a dainty spoonful of caviar) to the regal RMB1888. After that, you can order from an a la carte menu of Russia-inspired cocktails, like a Moscow mule, of course. The bar itself is tiny – like, a walk-in closet version of Siberia – but it makes for a pretty cool (er, freezing) drinking experience. Oh, and did we mention there’s an ice throne?
