China’s National Day is one week away and millions of people are already showing their patriotism on social media.

WeChat launched a new mini-program today that gives users’ profile pictures a new look, with a Chinese flag at the bottom right-hand corner of their current WeChat profile pic. Aside from guoqi (national flag), other options include a ‘70’ for the PRC’s 70th anniversary and a ‘Happy National Day’ banner.

We’re willing to bet at least one of your WeChat friends is already wearing the flag on their digital sleeve, with plenty more to follow over the next week. On Weibo, the trending hashtag #Five-starredRedFlagHas1.4BillionFlagBearers# (五星红旗有14亿护旗手) has over 6.7 billion views and 13 million posts and comments, as of press time.

Basically, everyone and their mother is making the switch, with posts flooding in that show off the latest profile pic trend. Others, meanwhile, are still figuring out how to add the five-starred red flag. “It seems like I can’t do it. I’ll just have to Photoshop it myself haha,” posted one Weibo user.
