They may have won all ten of their opening Chinese Super League games, but Beijing Guo'an came a cropper in the AFC Champions League after defeat in Japan against the Urawa Reds.

A pair of strikes from substitute Kazuki Nagasawa and Yuki Muto put Urawa firmly in charge in the first-half, before Nagasawa set up Shinzo Koroki after the break to seal matters 3-0 and send the Reds into the last 16, and Guo'an crashing out.

Oscar was the star for Shanghai SIPG recording a hat-trick, including a wonderful curling effort from outside the box, to fire the CSL champions into the AFC Champions League last 16 in a 5-0 victory over a depleted, already qualified Ulsan Hyundai.

Li Shenglong and substitute Hu Jinghang also made it onto the score sheet in the drubbing. SIPG will now play Jeonbuk Motors, another Korean side, next month.

Guanghzou Evergrande beat Daegu 1-0 to leapfrog the Korean side and join SIPG in the knockout phase. The Chinese Super League club looked set for a shock group-stage exit, but Paulinho's effort went in off Jeong Tae-wook to move Guangzhou a point ahead of their visitors.

Evergrande will play fellow Chinese club Shandong Luneng in the last 16, Luneng having already qualified with a group game to spare.

Back to domestic matters, Beijing Guo'an travel to Shanghai to take on SIPG at 7.35pm on Sunday night at Shanghai Stadium. With the capital side having opened up a five point-lead over Shanghai in the CSL (and an eight point-lead over Guangzhou Evergrande). It is a must-win game for SIPG if they are to keep the heat on Guo'an.
