Jul 20: Carl Barât
Carl Barât, best known as being co-frontman of beloved garage rock band The Libertines, graces Beijing fans this month. The British musician has had a slew of side projects from indie group Dirty Pretty Things to his own album and had even formed a band via applicants on Facebook called Carl Barât and the Jackals in 2014. Catch up with the living legend at his solo show at Tango.

Jul 21: The Odd Cabaret Show
The Odd Cabaret is a theatrical tribal bellydance show that will only open its gates once to give a glimpse into peculiar fantasies. Come and drown yourself in the shady waters of this night, in which the charms of merciless elegance and playful vulgarity combine for your deepest pleasure. Set to an intriguing, noir movie-like, jazz, swing and cyber punk playlist, alongside live music, this show will take you on a cinematographic journey of desires without rules ; through a world which has nothing to lose.

Jul 21: International Startup Meetup
One of Beijing's largest international startup summits takes place this week. Join the 2018 OTEC International Startup Meetup on July 21 for an afternoon focusing on innovation and entrepreneurship. They'll have major investors and Fortune 500 companies represented at the summit with one-on-one sessions, sharing sessions and panels.

Jul 22: Intelligence Valley and Liyuan Library Hike
We love a good hike and especially one that will make us smarter – yes, there is such a thing. Like Beijing Hiker’s Intelligence Valley hike, so called because it is said that if you walk down the valley, you will become more intelligent. The easy-going walk takes hikers past Liyuan Library (“the world’s most beautiful library”), too. A meal is included afterwards.
