Calling all families and performance art lovers! Looking to enjoy a weekend of nonstop entertainment in the great outdoors? The Great Wall Forest Festival is coming to Beijing this month. (No, not that Great Wall Festival.)
The outdoor music and arts festival will take place on the weekend of May 26-27 in the New Great Wall Valley in Yanqing County.
Featuring more than 200 performers, the family-friendly two-day event has everything to entertain all kinds of audiences from art, plays and music to acrobatics, magic and more. With a main music stage, a theater tent, a forest exploration zone, a kids market and an art workshop area, rest assured that there are activities for all interests and ages.

Set to perform at the festival are the Tianjin Acrobatic Troupe – these guys are bringing their spectacular Fantasy Night of the Toy Kingdom to the stage, a lively performance full of vibrant costumes, music, dance and magic.
Another highlight is Der Elefantenpups, a symphony concert based on a German children's book. This unique show incorporates Chinese and foreign musical instruments, introducing children to music from across the globe.
Other theater acts include Absolute Child, an adaption of the beloved children's story The Ugly Duckling, Loek Koopmans' The Pancake that Ran Away and a Pinocchio puppet show.

There will even be relaxing activities such as yoga, hiking and a stargazing area with an astronomical telescope for children provided by the festival.
