Trump Visits Forbidden City, Tweets About How Much He Loves It

Donald Trump landed in Beijing yesterday as part of his three-day visit to China.

The capital was on Code Orange as The Donald and his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, were treated to an exclusive tour of the Forbidden City by President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan. The gang was all smiles as they posed for photos together.

We're not gonna say we told you so, but these photos are pretty much identical to what we predicted the Forbidden City part of the tour would look like when the trip was first announced earlier this year. (Minus the sunny blue skies, obviously).

Not to brag, but we have amazing Photoshop skills.

Just before the tour started, Xi greeted Donald with a handshake — and it wasn't even all that awkward!

Pretty normal, see? And much better than the last one in Mar-a-Lago:

After the handshakes, the power couples met for a double date at the Hall of Embodied Treasures.

During the afternoon tea sesh, Trump showed Xi a video of granddaughter Arabella singing and reciting Chinese poems, leading Xi to say her Mandarin skills "deserved an A+".

The four then strolled around a virtually empty Forbidden City for the afternoon. These super VIPs probably didn't even need to book tickets online like the rest of us!

Trump also reportedly got a history lesson:

And the Forbidden City got all festive for the occasion.

That led to this random moment where Trump tried to pick up a solid gold vase:

Look at the guilt in his eyes:

Melania: "What the... I said put that DOWN! What are you doing?!"

Guilty AF.

Following the excursion, the Trumps enjoyed an evening of Peking Opera, which included performances of children dancers, acrobats doing Monkey King and "A Tipsy Beauty," a tale of imperial consort.

The Trumps apparently enjoyed today's visit so much that it prompted the Commander in Chief to tweet this:

He also changed his Twitter background photo:

Huh. Guess he can tweet from behind the Great Firewall after all!
