Oct 12: The Candle Thieves

The Candle Thieves, a UK-based duo comprised of songwriters Scott McEwan and The Glock (seriously, that’s what he goes by), make sunny pop that belies darker, contemplative lyrics about life and its foibles. The band is embarking on an extensive China tour, and they'll be stopping off at Yugong Yishan on Thursday night.

Oct 12: J-Fever with Major and Fishdoll

J-Fever is a pretty big deal in China's rap world. He's arguably the biggest rap artist in the Mainland. China aside, J-Fever has performed around the world, from LA to London. He'll be performing at Blue Note alongside his producer and electronic music genius Fishdoll.

Oct 12: Super School Fighter October Gig Series

As always Super School Fighter is happening every Thursday at School Bar. This week Russian Roulette, Childish Food and Acid Accident will perform.

Oct 13: Stolen

Electro-rock band Stolen is hitting the road on their China tour. The Chengdu-based group is often compared to the likes of Massive Attack and Joy Division. They'll be performing tunes off of their recently-released EP at Yugong Yishan on Friday.

Oct 14: Cassette Store Day Concert (Side B)

Cassette Store Day is back. The whole thing dates back to 2013, when a UK-based label hosted an epic, music-filled event. Now Cassette Store Day takes places annually across the world. Beijing's event is being put on by Beijing-based Nasty Wizard Recordings who will bring together labels from around China for a day of music at Yue Space on Saturday. There will be a market during the day and tons of great music all night long. Shanghai punk rockers Ugly Girls, Lonely Leary, Electric Lady and Guiguisuisui will all be performing.
