PHOTOS: Beijing Gets Smacked by Heavy Rains and Flooding

If you were in Beijing yesterday, you'll know that it rained... really hard.

A red warning signal was issued by the Beijing Meteorological Bureau in the capital last night after heavy rainfall left roads completely flooded.

The downpour was particularly heavy in Fangshan district, which recorded a whopping 110mm of rain fall per hour, according to Xinhua. Photos below show just how severe the flooding got. At one point police officers in Fangshan literally made a hand-in-hand wall to prevent vehicles from driving into the deeper sections.
