Bottega Opens Its Slick Second Location in Beijing's Hottest New Mall

New complex Shang can best be described as ‘hot right now.’ In a slick compound just north of the Liangma River, the building will have you philosophizing as to the geographical bounds of Sanlitun. It features a co-working space, a new Café Flatwhite, a Principle M, Q Mex’s new Taqueria and quotes by fancy white men stenciled in cursive on the walls outside the toilets. But one of the hottest openings? The second location of Bottega.

Here's, a rundown.

Bottega

What You’re Eating

All your favorites from the original Bottega – wood-fired pizzas (‘La Bottega,’ RMB120), pastas and our favorite, ravioli vegitariana, which is tasty even to non-vegetarianas.

What You’re Drinking

An Aperol Spritz if you’re traditional, an Italian craft beer if you’re not – either way, you’re drinking on the patio outside.

The Highlight

The bars – one around taps and prosecco bottles for drinking, the other around Bottega’s colossal pizza oven for dining. (Seriously, you will never want to leave.)

The Downside

Italian-style pizza is the best (fact), but we will grant that American-style is cheaper.
