Father’s Day is right around the corner – Sunday June 18 to be exact. If you totally forgot, or just haven’t made plans yet, don’t worry. There are quite a few brunches and events going on in Beijing to treat dad to.

Brunch

Conrad

Celebrate Father’s Day at Conrad Beijing with a special brunch for dads. The hotel’s beautiful library-cum-restaurant Chapter is setting out a spread of steaks, grilled seafood, sushi and sashimi (apparently dads aren’t vegetarians). Oh and, of course, Champagne.

Sun Jun 18; RMB328 per person plus 15 percent service charge (add RMB148 plus 15 percent for free-flow Champagne and craft beers); Chapter, Conrad Beijing, see event listing.

Kerry’s Kitchen

Kerry's Kitchen is serving up a hearty brunch just for dad. There will be tons of local and international dishes for dad, and kids can play at the always-entertaining Adventure Zone. There will be some pretty great lucky draw prizes too, including a 6-day cruise to Japan for the whole family, weekend stays at Kerry Hotel and Beijing restaurant vouchers. All dads will get a framed certificate and personalized botte of wine printed with his favorite picture. Just be sure to send a high-res photo to comm.hbkc@thekerryhotels.com.

Sun June 18, 12-3pm. 12-3.30pm. RMB418 (adult), RMB209 (child 6-11), add RMB298 for free flow beverage package of champagne, selected wines, draft beer, juices and soft drinks. Kerry's Kitchen, see event listing. Bookings need to be made before Tuesday June 13.

Dads will also get a complimentary glass of craft beer from the newly opened outdoor beer bar, The Craft Container. Dads and kids can play at the electric shooting arcade, and there will be a spicy ostrich wing eating competition for dads with a special prize for the victor.

Sun 18 June, 11.30am-3pm. RMB458, half price for kids 7-11. Free for kids 6 and under. Feast. For reservations call 8414 9820.

Bene

Bene is serving up a 4-courses Italian lunch for the occasion. The menu includes a glass of wine and bubbly, mushroom and foie gras soup, nicoise salad, mouthwatering T-bone steak or grilled lobster, and tiramisu. Dads can bond with their little ones by making their own pizzas with the help of Bene's chefs. Dads will also get a teddy bear memento.

11.30am-2pm. RMB525. Bene, see event listing

Do something really special for dad this Sunday. Head out to the Great Wall at Mutianyu, go for a nice hike and then dine at Brickyard Lodge. Not only will dads eat well, but they'll eat for free (as long as they're accompanied by at least one child, that is)!

12pm-7pm, The Brickyard Retreat Center at Mutianyu Great Wall

San Wu Tang (Hotel Jen)

If you want to treat dad to great food and great views this Father's Day head over to Hotel Jen's new San Wu Tang restaurant. Not only will there be a great meal for dad, but kids can participate in a drawing competition. The child that creates the most creative craft beer label will win a weekend staycation at Hotel Jen for the whole family.

11:30am-10pm, RMB128 (lunch), RMB168 (dinner). Kids under 6 eat free, kids 6-12 are 50 percent off

Events

Punk Rock Father's Day @ School

Father's Day isn't all about brunch... though who doesn't love brunch? If you're looking for something a bit more offbeat (or shall we say upbeat) to do for the big day, head over to School for Punk Rock Father's Day. Ambulance of Love, Russian Roulette, Duff Beer and Little Wang will be performing.

9pm, RMB40, Free for dad's who bring their child. School Live Bar, see event listing
