Mar 23: Ran Music presents thruoutin

Beijing-based American producer thruoutin has just released a brand new EP, Contingent of Outlying Territory. The EP is eight tracks and draws influence from Chicago footwork, UK bass and field recording experimentation. The producer is going to play the whole album at Dada on Thursday, including a few live instrumentals. MAJOR (Qingdao) will do a live set and DJ Knopha will do a vinyl set.

Thur Mar 23, 10pm; Dada, see event listing.

Mar 24: Santo Chino's 'Same As It Ever Was' Party

Santo Chino has been on hiatus for the past year, but one of our favourite DJs is back with a bunch of records... think punk, disco b-sides and all the rest. It's going to be all about vinyl on Friday night at Dada so expect some snap, crackle and pop!

Fri Mar 24, 10pm-late; Price TBD. Dada, see event listing

Mar 24: Lola Kane's Sober Party

Um, this might be called a "sober party," but Aotu Studio promises "the best alcohol and enough of it." So we're assuming this party isn't actually dry. Aotu will be decked out in '80s and '90s retro decor and the Count of Monte Disco and ShadowPlay resident Zhi Qi will be providing the beats.

Fri Mar 24, 10pm-late; Free. Aotu Studios, see event listing

Mar 24-25: The Bricks Live Jazz Bar Grand Opening

201703/bricks.jpg

There will be a whole bunch of performances going on at The Bricks's grand opening this weekend. Expect host MC Freddy Friday, a show by the AlleyCats, cabaret dancers and lucky draws. Select bottles will be buy one get one 50 percent off.

Mar 25: Fausto Bahia and Mexican Jihad

Forward-thinking Mexican collective NAAFI are responsible for some of the most interesting dance music in Latin America. And it’s also responsible for some of the wildest parties in Mexico City. Two key members of the crew, Fausto Bahia and Mexican Jihad, join forces to bring the fun to Migas. We’d tell you what to expect, but frankly, we don’t know. (For reasons why, see The Fader’s recent article ‘How N.A.A.F.I. Is Changing Party Culture By Ignoring All The Rules.’)

Sat Mar 25, from 10pm; RMB60 presale / RMB80 on the door; The Bar at Migas, see event listing.

Mar 25: Trus’me

Trus’me is on a lifelong mission to learn and evolve. That might be the reason why the British DJ is constantly creating killer tunes. His tastes in music are about as diverse as it comes, but it is his personal interests in things like physics, space and all things sci-fi that make him a refreshingly eclectic artist. Believe it or not, it was these exact things that inspired his recent album Planet 4. He’ll be doing a vinyl-only show at Dada on Saturday night. Check out our interview with Trus'me here.

Sat Mar 25, 10pm-late; price TBD. Dada, see event listing.

Mar 25: Club Paradise

If you've got a thing for tropical neon things, then this party is for you. DJs Ted Dancin’, Saucy and Chloe will get the dancefloor moving. The party will be on 8-BIT's new second floor... and don't forget to wear your best Hawaiin shirt.

Sat Mar 25, 10pm-late. 8-BIT, see event listing

Mar 25: Sherpa's Day at Ramo

In case you haven't heard already, Sherpa's recently launched their new app. On Saturday Sherpas is joining forces with Ramo to bring you a day of food and fun. Things will kick off at 2pm. Ramo will cook up a special Sherpa's pizza and Mimi e Coco will concoct a special Sherpa's punch. There will be 160 Sherpa's vouchers given away, ranging from RMB5-RMB50. DJ Cad73 will be on the decks providing the sounds.

Sat Mar 25, 2pm. Ramo, see event listing.

Mar 25: Out of Step Kick Off Party

Out of Step is that new brewpub located on Sanlitun Dongsanjie. The bar imports kegs of beer exclusively from Vancouver, which makes sense considering its owner is Chinese-Canadian. Well they're throwing their kick off party on Saturday. There will be plenty of tunes courtesy of DJs Flvcko and Push and all beers on tap will be RMB40. Check out our review of Out of Step here.

Sat Mar 25, 7pm. Out of Step, see event listing
