Beijing Wine Bar Review: Vin Vino

Wine bars: Still a thing! In our September issue, we put two of ‘em to the test, and now, we’re doing it again. This time: new opening Vin Vino

Location: Maizidian. Pro tip for the ambitious: There is an entire street of tiny Japanese restaurants just outside. An entire street!

Selection: Solid, curated selection meant to please and not overwhelm.

Atmosphere: This aesthetically pleasing, wood-paneled little shop wouldn’t be out of place in New York City.

Food: The French-Japanese tapas are so delightful that the wine almost takes a backseat. Try the octopus carpaccio (RMB58). Or don’t, it’s your life.

Price range:  Glasses from RMB48, bottles from RMB200; small plates range from RMB30-RMB100.

Takeaway: Not to be confused with InVino – seriously, don’t confuse them, we did at first – Vin Vino is the Liangmaqiao hangout we didn’t know we needed.
