For all of you 90s kids out there, this show is an exciting one. You might remember Andy Smith from his days deejaying for Portishead. Or you might know him from his debut mix album, The Document. Smith released The Document back in 1998 and it went on to become the soundtrack of a generation. It incorporated tracks from a variety of genres and sampled a wide range of artists from Tom Jones to the Beastie Boys to The Spencer Davis Group. Now, the legendary DJ is heading to Beijing to perform his classic mix tape album live. And the coolest part is that he will be using the original seven-inch records. That’s right – he’s going totally old school, sans digital.
Fri June 3, 10pm-late. RMB70 (door); Migas, see event listing for details.
