Jing-A is launching their latest beer, Gaigekaifang, at School Live this Thursday. The triple IPA packs a whopping 12 percent alcohol, something that should definitely be celebrated with a night of music. Four local bands will be there: Skin Bad, The Last Resort, Final Impact and Goodbye Sunset. Get ready to drink and be merry.

Having spent over 16 years at the heart of China’s post-rock scene, Wang Wen could be excused for resting on their laurels. But the Dalian group have turned over a dark new leaf as of late. With the launch of their new album they are currently embarking on a 19-city tour that stops off at Yugong Yishan this Saturday and Sunday.

Sat-Sun May 21-22, 9-11pm (Sat) 8.30-10.30pm (Sun), RMB100-150. Yugong Yishan.

May 22: Redor @ Modernsky Lab

Feel-good Fujian quartet Redor have been blending pop, rock and funk since 2010. As long as they veer toward their funky side (rather than their soppy side), then their show at Modernsky Lab should get your feet moving.

Sun May 22; RMB60 (advance), RMB80 (door). Modernsky Lab, see event listing for details.
