The lineup for the Beijing International Film Festival has finally been finalized. A total of 500 films will be shown during the weeklong festival, which will be held in the capital from April 16-23. Among the most anticipated recent releases that will be screened are Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine, Straight Outta Compton, The Big Short (Oscar winner for Best Adapted Screenplay), The Lobster and Ex Machina. But there are a lot more than that.
Other films include box office hits like the Alien and Star Wars series and classic films, such as The Seven Year Itch (1955) and Some Like it Hot (1959).
There will be 1,000 screenings around the city at 25 cinemas and five universities. For a list of venues head here and to see what’s playing head here.
Tickets go on sale starting April 1 at 12pm and will be available online at Gewara and Weipiao. Rumor has it that tickets will sell out very quickly.
Aside from featuring some big films, as we reported previously, it is confirmed that some A-list celebrities (i.e. Natalie Portman) will be in attendance.
It looks like the 6th annual Beijing International Film Festival is gearing up to be quite the event.
