Do we have dirty minds, or is everything just laden with suggestion? Last month saw the arrival of not one, but two new eateries playing on sexual innuendos: Beijing Bangers, a sausage startup supplying Slow Boat's brunch with, well, bangers, and The Meatball Company, whose not-so-innocent slogan is #EATYOURBALLS.

Elsewhere, openings are more likely to be expansions than flagships – we hear Melissa has plans to expand her Juice by Melissa shop to Shunyi, while the new Pizza Express in Raffles City is imminent (see colossal sign on fourth floor for reference).

Menus expanded too: Agua's new Infinity Brunch is even more infinite than before, and Jing-A has launches its Brewer’s Brunch (in case your taste is a little more beergarita than mimosa).

Off the Beaten Plate

The people behind Kang's Noodle House have brains – and it's not the thought behind their sleek design we're talking about. They literally have brains, and they're going fast: according to the manager, over half of their customers order the “Brain Flower,” a soft pork cranium on a plate. Our take? Not bad. We would’ve totally finished our plates... if it weren't for the image of a carefully presented brain in front of us.

>Available at Kang's Noodle House, RMB12 Mon-Thu 11.30am-2.30pm & 5pm-12am, Fri-Sun 11.20am-12am; Yard 34, Sanlitun Nanjie, Chaoyang

Weekly Deal

Get ready to rage: Rager Pie's supplying your morning coffee, with espresso drinks half price every day from 7-9am.

If you're more of a late-night partier than an early-morning riser, then Rager's got a deal for you too. On Fridays, you can win a free pie – if and only if you and a friend are willing to smash pies into each other's faces. When they say rage, they mean it.

>Rager Pie, see listing for details
