Take a look inside Beijing's most expensive home - the 'floating courtyard'

This is the most expensive apartment you could possibly buy in Beijing right now: a one-thousand-square-meter "mid-air siheyuan" using the classic layout of the hutong courtyard home and transposing it to the sky over the nation's capital, looking over a swath of green land with the city skyline looming in the distance (if it's a good day and you can see that far).

Netizens, however, were not impressed by the RMB500,000 per square meter mansion: "I think it's just like a hotel," the most popular comment read, "it has none of the warmth of a home." Others were even more scathing: "this design is just like a shantytown, only in China could this be called a grand mansion."

Of course, maybe they're all just jelly.
