Regent Beijing presents the Heart of Beijing Afternoon Tea inspired by the Cultural Heritage of the Master Kite Maker – Beijing Swallow (Sha Yan). For over 2,000 years, the Chinese believed that making and flying a kite will bring good health and immense luck. The different colors and designs of the kites shower prosperity to the people flying the kites that makes the spring and summer sky light up like a rainbow. Regent Beijing’s culinary team choose a lively kite flying in the sky dancing with the clouds with the same meaning as ‘looking for luck’ - named “Jia Die Xun Fang” a Beijing Swallow kite made of white chocolate breathing new life into the Heart of Beijing Afternoon Tea with a Chinese style white cloud chocolate button, together with “Ji Xiang Ru Yi” a lucky lock made from a red dragon fruit cake with vanilla cream.
