The eighth and final volume of Shining Dimensions will take place on Friday July 19. For the conclusion of this series the organizers have decided to do something a little different: a round robin show. The premise of a round robin is that the performers set up around the edges of the space and the audience is located in the middle. There is no headliner, no support, and rather than focusing on one performer for a whole set the performance passes from one edge of the room to another, round and round, song by song, piece by piece, the creation shifting around the audience.
This is the first time somebody has done a round robin in Beijing (to the best of our knowledge) and in keeping with the vibes and energy of the previous Shining Dimensions shows we’re adding a couple of twists in there; while the room will be divided into four sections each containing a different musical artist, each area will also contain a visual artist, and a dance performance for the whole room.
