Sangeetham is an individual institute for introducing Oriental art, especially Indian classical art, in China. Since 2004, Sangeetham has produced many hard-working students who went on to make Indian dance well known among Chinese people. The students had many opportunities to dance at important events for cultural exchange between China and India. They have performed at the Indian Cultural Festival in 2006, Happy Camp (快乐大本营) TV program on Hunan Star TV in 2007 and some other famous TV programs on CCTV. They also performed for the foreign minister of India in 2008, the president of India Pratibha Patil and president of China Xi Jinping in 2010.

The director Ms. Jin Shanshan completed her Bachelor of Arts in Indian Language and Literature at Peking University. Since her childhood, she has been learning oriental dances as part of the Oriental Song and Dance Troupe in Beijing.
